OCTOBER: A MONTH TO CELEBRATE OUR TEACHERS!

At Global Refugee Initiatives (GRI), we recognise the invaluable role teachers play in shaping young minds, inspiring hope, and transforming lives. While World Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5 October, we are dedicating the entire month to appreciating teachers, especially our team at Ubuntu Model Primary School.

Our teachers do much more than deliver lessons. They nurture children affected by trauma and displacement, helping them grow into healthy, active, confident, and hopeful learners.

Ubuntu Model Primary School’s growth reflects their dedication. From 6 teachers serving approximately 198 learners in 2023, the school has grown to 13 teachers serving approximately 630 learners in 2026. Behind these numbers are the daily efforts of our teaching team, guided by our Headteacher, Ms. Agnes Nambooze.

To recognise their hard work, we brought our teachers together for a simple Thank-You Dinner. Games, dancing, laughter, and shared moments made it a special occasion to appreciate the people who give so much to our learners.

To our Ubuntu Model Primary School team and teachers around the world, thank you for your patience, care, and commitment.

Happy Teachers’ Day and Happy Teachers’ Month!
